AMAZONENCORE: WOW

HELLO TO ALL YOU SALINGER FANS AND READERS OF GRIPPING FICTION:
A quick update from the rivah (Rappahannock, that is, Virginia). Holden Caulfield's take on the world intrigues Daniel Landon when he learns he has leukemia just before his 16th birthday. With aging hippies as parents who don't believe in traditional treatments, Daniel has more issues to deal with than just how to live a lifetime in the year he has left. His mother moves the family to a houseboat to avoid germs, and his best friend Mack is experimenting with drugs.

When Amazon Books decided to traditionally publish authors who they felt deserved more attention, they chose CATCHER, CAUGHT as book number 15. The manuscript was one of 100 semi-finalists out of 6500 entries for theAmazon 2009 Breakthrough Novel Award. And while they're hard at work on production and PR decisions, I've done the editing and have received uncorrected proofs to send out for advance reviews. Of course AE will send out the final galleys for official reviews by summer, but I've met so many talented authors at the book festivals and author events I've done since 2006 for my other novels, WHITE LIES and WALTZING COWBOYS that I can use these early galleys for their feedback. And . . .

Last week VA PRESS WOMEN notified me that WALTZING COWBOYS has won an award in their annual contest. Announcement will be made on April 22 at their Spring Conference. The excitement builds.
